Printed prayer flags

Time seems to be running away these days, I never have enough time to get what I want and a day off is a luxary to be meticulously planned!!

but recently I did complete some prayer flags for a local vegetarian cafe bar,
They're Organic fairtrade cotton vegetable dyed in beetroot, red onions and Tumeric...
(the hens had all of the boiled down vegetables after dyeing to reduce waste)

I love this print it as done by accident really just doodling one day but it was a great mistake, I'll definatly be adapting it into a repeat pattern for fabrics.

The Tibetans believe that their prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread good will, compassion, strength and wisdom. The tradional flags use primary colours representing the 5 different elements; sky/space, air/wind, fire, water and earth and the prayers
and mantras of good will printed using traditional wood block printing.

There is often new flags flown beside the fading flags of previous years to represent the welcoming of life's changes and the acknowledgement that all beings are part of a greater on-going cycle.
